Annual Festa do Espirito Santo

Celebrate Portuguese Heritage by joining in the city’s oldest ethnic festival, Festa do Espirito Santo, that commemorates Portugal’s Queen St. Isabel. In San Diego, the Festa do Espírito Santo is the oldest ethnic religious celebration, dating back to the time when the first families settled here in 1884 and was formally organized in 1910.

Sunday Spreckles Organ Concert

Pioneer Family Fun: Sikes Adobe Historic Farmstead, Escondido

Interested in a fun family weekend? Join SDRVC for an interactive day at the Sikes Adobe Historic Farmstead, where participants (ages 7 – 12) will learn what it was like to be a pioneering family, how the community functioned through crop production, trading and animals that provided food and milk, and the importance of the natural environment in daily living.

As a part of the Watershed Explorers Program, families are encouraged to participate as a whole!

Please wear closed toed shoes, pants, and a jacket in case of inclement weather. It is also recommended to bring water and a snack.

2nd Saturday Art Lesson

The Education Department at the California Center for the Arts Escondido offers this free art lesson Saturday at Education Studio 2 led by Nancy Robinson, who will help students create a wintry, watercolor masterpiece.
