Carlsbad Flower Fields

This spring, Mingei International Museum will shine a spotlight on the lesser-known libraries of UC San Diego, San Diego State University and University of San Diego. Second Saturday Art Lesson

Tints, tones, and shades, oh my! Immerse yourself in the world of shamrocks, rolling hills, flowers and leaves as we celebrate the season. In this lesson you’ll learn how mix paints to create new hues to express space, depth and form in your spring-time scenes.

Please note: due to the popularity of our Second Saturday art lessons, we now have two times available to participate. The first lesson will run from 10-11 a.m., and the second lesson will run from 11 a.m.-12 p.m.

Seas ‘n’ Greetings

The magic of the holidays meets the magic of the underwater world at Birch Aquarium during Seas ‘n’ Greetings, a month-long holiday celebration featuring SEAsonal activities for the whole family.

From December 1 to 31, Birch Aquarium  is transformed into a holiday wonderland. Encinitas Holiday Parade

For the 60th year, Encinitas will kick off the holiday season at the 2017 Encinitas Holiday Parade, presented by Lazy Acres Natural Market on Saturday, December 2.  Thousands of people will be on floats, on foot, in cars, and marching in bands while tens of thousands cheer them along the Parade route along Coast Highway 101.  The nighttime parade theme for 2017 is “Celebrating the Arts!”

The Escondido Tamale Festival is a celebration of Tamales and all the great Latin foods that have become iconic staples of California’s culture. It’s a look back at the history of the Spanish and Mexican settlers who have influenced and contributed so much to our multicultural community, and a show of appreciation for the traditions which have so positively affected Escondido.
