Julian Gold Rush Days celebrates the discovery of gold in this mountain community and invites visitors to learn more about its history with a weekend of entertainment including gold panning, tomahawk throwing, candle dipping and more. Located at The Julian Mining Company in Wynola, the old fashioned mining camp will offer re-enactors, an arts and crafts market, food and drink, a petting zoo, pony rides, and old fashioned laundry, free parking and plenty of family fun.

Latin American Art Festival

Over 70 visual artists will be participate in this festival. After being selected by a panel of experts, artists from Colombia, Peru, Venezuela, Guatemala and many cities of Mexico and the United States, will be present.

Goodguys 17th Meguiar’s Del Mar Nationals

At the Del Mar Nationals, there will be over 2,500 rods, customs, classics, muscle cars and trucks thru ’72, indoor car show, 2017 March Performance Street Rod d’Elegance Competition, live music, exhibits, model and pedal car show, and much more.

The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch

The famous Flower Fields in Carlsbad Ranch officially opened for the season on March 1; the fields are open daily, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., through May 14. Patrons will enjoy nearly 50 acres of colorful displays of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers, which are in bloom for six to eight weeks. The famous fields also include roses, orchids, sweet pea blossoms, petunias and poinsettias.

Julian Country Christmas Tree Lighting

Country Christmas Tree Lighting on Nov. 26th. Julian kicks off the holiday season with the annual lighting of the town’s huge living Christmas tree, presented by the Julian Merchants Association. This is a popular event, drawing hundreds of visitors who gather at Pioneer Park to watch the lighting and visit with Santa. Festivities start at 2:00 PM.

35th Annual Adams Avenue Street Fair

2016 Padres FanFest will take place at Petco Park on Friday, April 1 and Saturday, April 2, in conjunction with two exhibition games against the Chicago White Sox. FanFest activities are free of charge. No ticket or pre-registration are necessary. FanFest will be the first opportunity for fans to experience this season’s ballpark updates, including the LED ballpark lighting and the new bi-level group and social space in right field: Sun Diego Beach and The Pier.

Fort Cross Lilac Festival

The beautiful town of Julian nestled up in the mountains east of San Diego is putting on their first annual Lilac Festival, April 2 & 3, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. both days.

The weekend’s activities will include hayrides, archery, tomahawk throwing, candle dipping, face painting, pony rides, and vendor shopping. And, if they don’t bloom too early, beautifully fragrant lilacs available for purchase. Admission is free and includes the opportunity to join in on live music and dancing. 5th Annual Chocolate Festival | A Celebration of Chocolate on the Bay

The San Diego Festival of Beer finally comes of age this year, turning 21. The beer tasting festival is organized by the non-profit San Diego Professionals Against Cancer (SDPAC) and doubles as a fundraiser for the organization. The event will be held at the picturesque Broadway Pier in downtown San Diego, and the first 1,500 attendees will receive a free souvenir tasting mug to keep and use throughout the evening.

San Diego Bayfair

The world’s fastest boats will roar into Mission Bay for this three-day, family-friendly festival featuring high-octane action, music and beer gardens. This year, Bayfair organizers expect one of the largest boat fleets ever on the water, with more than 80 teams competing in multiple races. More than 85,000 spectators are expected to descend on East Vacation Island, Crown Point and Fiesta Island for this annual outdoor weekend event. 43rd Annual Bonitafest

The communities of Bonita and Sweetwater Valley will celebrate their heritage Saturday with the 43rd Annual BonitaFest. The festival kicks off Friday evening with a twilight trail parade. A street fair will take over the area around Bonita Vista High School. There will also be a performing arts festival.

20th Annual Encinitas Oktoberfest
