Kids Free October

October is Kids Free month in San Diego at more than 100 participating restaurants, attractions and hotels. That means free meals, free admission to theme parks, museums and more, and free gifts at several other locations. Kids can take a dive at Legoland when an adult buys their ticket, visit the animals at either the San Diego Zoo or San Diego Zoo Safari Park (or both!), or dine free at Carnitas Snack Shack, just to name a few. El Cajon’s Oktoberfest

La Jolla Art & Wine Festival

Back for its 10th season, the La Jolla Art & Wine Festival aims to do two things — celebrate local artists and inspire young artists through art education programs at schools. The free two-day festival returns to the heart of the La Jolla village with more than 1,150 artists’ work on display. There will also be a beer garden, gourmet marketplace, a silent auction, pet adoption stations and a lineup of entertainment and music.

Pacific BeachFest

El Cajon Dinner and a Concert

One of El Cajon’s premier events, our Dinner & a Concert Series is back again this year in the center of Downtown El Cajon. Dinner & A Concert is a weekly concert and dance hosted by Downtown El Cajon Business Partners, performed on the Prescott Promenade, which is surrounded by a variety of restaurants. Thousands of people from all over San Diego County arrive to see and listen to many of our local bands and musicians. Join us Friday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 PM for a great time and great food from our downtown restaurants.

Seas ‘n’ Greetings

The magic of the holidays meets the magic of the underwater world at Birch Aquarium during Seas ‘n’ Greetings, a month-long holiday celebration featuring SEAsonal activities for the whole family.

From December 1 to 31, Birch Aquarium  is transformed into a holiday wonderland. Deck the Hall (of Fishes) and get into the holiday spirit every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and check the schedule for special appearances by Scuba Santa as well as themed animal encounters, a scavenger hunt, and fun photo opportunities. On Saturdays and Sundays, things are even more festive with live music and two daily dive shows. The schedule changes daily, so check the calendar for details. All Seas ‘n’ Greetings activities are included with admission.

Ice skating at Poway ICE Arena

Bundle up in warm clothes and go enjoy a public skate session for all ages and skating levels at Poway Ice Arena. After the sun goes down in December, the San Diego Botanic Garden in Encinitas is transformed into a dazzling winter wonderland – Southern California Style! More than 125,000 sparkling lights illuminate the flora of this fantastic 37-acre urban oasis each evening for a magical holiday experience. Bring the family and enjoy the Garden at night as the lights illuminate several spectacular Garden areas.

There is no Garden of Lights on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

Encinitas Holiday Parade

For the 60th year, Encinitas will kick off the holiday season at the 2017 Encinitas Holiday Parade, presented by Lazy Acres Natural Market on Saturday, December 2.  Thousands of people will be on floats, on foot, in cars, and marching in bands while tens of thousands cheer them along the Parade route along Coast Highway 101.  The nighttime parade theme for 2017 is “Celebrating the Arts!”

Winter Wonderland Festival
