37th Annual Coronado Christmas Parade & Open House

Embrace the magical nostalgia of Coronado on Friday, December 7th. Nowhere else is magical excitement in season than during our annual Christmas Parade, complete with Santa’s arrival by ferry. This year marks the 37th year the Coronado Chamber of Commerce has hosted the Holiday Open House celebration that has become a tradition for countless San Diego residents and visitors alike. This special evening showcases the magic of our island and promotes our unique assortment of boutiques and shops, making shopping local easy with Orange Avenue closed to cars from 5-9 PM. The magical isle of Coronado has so much to offer year round, but it is during the holiday season that our small town truly reflects the magical destination it is….thus the theme of our festivities “Timeless Holiday Magic”…..part fun, part sun, and part fairytale!

Mission Bay Christmas Boat Parade of Lights
Saturday, December 8 | 6pm – 9pm
This free, distinctly California celebration features boats decorated for the annual holiday season that will sail around Mission Bay. A highly anticipated event in the San Diego community, more than 100 vessels take to the water for the parade.
The boat parade begins at 7:00 p.m. from Quivira Basin. Best viewing is from Crown Point, the east side of Vacation Island or the west side of Fiesta Island. The parade ends with a fantastic firework display and the lighting of the SeaWorld Skytower Tree of Lights at 9:00 p.m.

Parade of Lights Pier Party
Sunday, December 9 | 4pm – 6pm
The Port of San Diego is sponsoring the Parade of Lights Pier Party on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Port Pavilion on Broadway Pier. The event is free to the public and will serve as the official launch to the Port’s 50th anniversary. The Pier Party will take place before the Parade of Lights and will feature food trucks, craft-making activities for children, two inflatable bounce houses, a train ride, and a sleigh for photo opportunities. There will also be a performance by the Navy Region Southwest Band. Paid parking will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at the B Street Cruise Ship Terminal for $10.
