Jungle Bells are ringing: The San Diego Zoo’s fourth annual holiday celebration continues daily through Jan. 6. This year’s event includes live animal shows, tree-lighting ceremonies, animal encounters, storytelling, holiday décor and food specials, Santa Claus and extended hours. Every evening through Jan. 6, the zoo will stay open until 8 p.m. (except on Christmas Eve, when the park will close at 5 p.m.). The park is open Christmas and New Year’s Day. The 50-seat 4-D theater hosts screenings of nature films throughout the day with 3-D video and special effects (bubbles, mist, snowfall, scents, vibrating seats) for a separate fee. There’s a Santa’s workshop with live music, evening storytelling and tram tours and themed décor; San Diego Zoo; 2920 Zoo Drive in San Diego.
Everything but movies are included with admission, which is $44 for adults and $34 for children (3-11).
