Carlsbad Music Festival

The 15th annual Carlsbad Music Festival is a 3-day summer celebration of “adventurous music by the beach” on Friday-Sunday, August 24-26, 2018, in the charming seaside Village of Carlsbad. The Festival, called “one of the area’s most innovative music showcases” by KPBS, features 60+ performances of creative music of all kinds curated by Founder and Artistic Director, composer/violinist Matt McBane. These include ticketed Mainstage Concerts, dozens of FREE outdoor concerts all weekend, and a beer garden, food trucks, and artisan market.

San Diego International Kids’ Film Festival

The San Diego International Kids’ Film Festival will screen over 150+ films from 30+ countries. American filmmakers as well as film delegations from China, Korea, Taiwan, Canada, Mexico, Russia, Japan, India, France, UK, Germany and many more, will appear at the event.

Imperial Avenue Street Festival

The Imperial Avenue Street Festival is a multicultural street scene that celebrates the rich history, arts and culture of the Greater Logan Heights community.

Swinging Gypsies

The Swinging Gypsies embody the spirit of gypsy jazz mixed with traditional jazz and swing.  Enjoy free Swing Dance lessons that will help you move to this delightful band, merging music and dance as one on August 25 5-8 pm.

14th Annual Leucadiart Walk

Come join us for a day of packed with art, music, culture and fun. This year’s LeucadiART Walk will be a day to remember in celebration of supporting creativity and the people in this community.

Grunion Run

In what may be its last run of the season, thousands of grunion, slim silver fish, will come out of the water and onto the shoreline to spawn. To see the natural event that happens only a handful of days throughout the year, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife recommends heading to a San Diego County beach with a flashlight. Runs are expected through Tuesday at various times but sightings are not guaranteed. Grunion sightings may occur at: Oceanside Pier View North Beach, Oceanside Harbor Beach, Del Mar Beach, La Jolla Shores, Mission Beach, Ocean Beach, Coronado and Coronado Shores Beach and Imperial Beach.

When: through Tuesday at various times

Sunday Organ Concert

Enjoy a free, hour-long organ concert Sunday at Balboa Park’s famed Spreckels Organ Pavilion. At the keys, the audience will find Raul Prieto Ramirez, the city’s newest San Diego Civic Organist and Artistic Director of the Spreckels Organ Society. Prieto Ramirez hails from Spain and, as he told NBC 7, hopes to keep the program interesting – from Bach to Queen – at the historic Spreckels Organ.
