San Diego County Events for January 4 – 6

It’s the first weekend of the new year; hopefully some of these events will help you pursue health, quality time with family, education or whatever resolution you’re pursuing in 2019!

The San Diego Spring Home Show will help you find inspiration, products and services to help make that home improvement project a reality. The 3-day expo will take over downtown’s San Diego Convention Center Friday through Sunday. Free passes can be printed out in advance online (https://www.homeshowsandiego.com/free-pass); at the door, tickets will cost $10.

When: Friday Jan. 4, 11am – 8pm | Saturday Jan. 5, 10am – 8pm | Sunday Jan. 6, 10am – 6pm

Three Decades in the Rearview

This retrospective exhibit, “Three Decades in the Rearview,” showcases a variety of unique vehicles that encapsulate the automotive culture including race cars, hot rods, low-riders and more. The anniversary exhibit runs through Jan. 26, 2019, and is included with the purchase of a general admission ticket.

ArchaeoCon 2019

The Archaeological Institute of America turns 140 years old in 2019 and this expo at the Marriott Marquis will pretty much serve as the institute’s birthday bash. The fair will feature archaeology presentations, hands-on demos, workshops, an “ancient game tournament” centered on a board game from Mesopotamia, and Q&A sessions with experts.

Guided Nature Walk – Mission Trails Regional Park

Start your Sunday with a little nature walk at Mission Trails Regional Park. A trail guide will take visitors through one of three trails — the Oak Grove Loop, the Visitor Center Loop or the Riverside Grinding Rocks — while talking about the plants, animals, geology, history, and ecology of the park. These weekly guided walks are free and open to the public and begin at the Visitor Center.
