Go fly a kite with family-friendly Obecians at the OB Kite Festival. The Ocean Beach Kiwanis Kite Festival, a beloved local tradition, is celebrating its 65th anniversary this year. To honor the anniversary, this year’s festival will be bigger and better than ever. In addition to the traditional free kite making for children, this year’s festival will include demonstrations of kite flying and kite stunts by kite professionals and dedicated amateurs; more carnival rides; more food options, and a brand new location.
The date is Saturday, March 2. The hours are: 9 am to 4 pm for the craft fair and carnival rides; 9 am to 12 noon for kite making; 1 pm for prize judging; and 1:30 pm for awarding of prizes. Kite flying demonstrations will be intermittent during the late morning and/or early afternoon – depending on wind conditions.
When: March 2 | 9am – 4pm
Where: Dusty Rhodes Park, San Diego, CA
