The St. Patrick’s Day Parade begins Saturday, March 15th promptly at 10:30am on Fifth Avenue at Laurel Street — with thousands of marchers and spectators gather to celebrate the St. Patrick’s Day. The Parade will travel Fifth Avenue from Laurel, to Upas Street, and then loop back to Laurel via Sixth Avenue.
Following is an event-filled Irish Festival at Balboa Park (Sixth Avenue and Maple Street area) from 9am to 6pm. Live entertainment will be at the festival, featuring the CAL FIRE’s Honor Guard, Pipes and Drums — leading the FDNY Ladder 152 fire truck that responded to the call at the World Trade Center on 9/11 in New York.
Other entertainment includes bagpipers, marching bands, floats, dancing groups, marching and equestrian units, representatives from Ireland, an authentic Celtic Village, beer gardens, craft and food booths, and more.
