Ramona Rodeo

At the Ramona Rodeo, you will see different PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) and WPRA (Womens Professional Rodeo Association) contestants compete at each performance. The pros compete in bare-back riding, tie-down roping, bull riding, barrel racing, and other professional competitions.

36th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Irish Festival

All of San Diego County is invited to come this weekend to enjoy all things Irish, at the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Irish Festival! There will be live entertainment on two stages, Irish food, festivities, vendors, and a beer garden. There’s a Celtic Village, games, activities, an art contest, dancing, and music for children.

The festival runs from 9am to 6pm, and the parade begins at 10:30am.

34th Annual San Diego Chinese New Year Food & Cultural Fair

The San Diego Chinese Center hosts its 34th annual Chinese New Year Food and Cultural Fair, Feb. 13-14, 2016 in the Asian Pacific Thematic Historic District of San Diego (Third Avenue and J Street). This two day event will include lion and dragon dances, continuous live performances on stage with martial arts demonstrations, acrobats, traditional Chinese music performances, folk dances, and taiko drumming. Visitors can sample over 50 food and commercial booths. Children can make lanterns and masks in the children craft area, and march in the Lantern Parade each day.

24th Annual Kuumba Fest

Kuumba Fest is San Diego’s longest running celebration of African-American culture and heritage.

The 2016 soundON Festival of Modern Music: APOCALYPSE AND TRANSFIGURATION. Replete with evocative and powerful imagery, classic Jewish and Christian apocalypses (the most well-known being the first century Apocalypse of John or Book of Revelation) portray an imminent end of history, and are characterized by descriptions of a supernatural world and the fate of the dead. Liberty Station Holiday Walkabout

Liberty Station’s Holiday Walkabout will kick off a new quarterly community-driven ‘walkabout’ series on Saturday, December 12th.

Take in the thousands of twinkling lights and festoons of holiday decor within the neighborhood’s north end “Arts District” (between Roosevelt Rd and Lytton St). Feast on complimentary holiday-inspired tastes and sips from favorite local eateries, wander the endless artisan galleries and boutiques for the perfect gift, or hit the new ice rink for an evening of family-fun. Liberty Station’s hoverboarding Surfing’ Santa will touch down to greet well-wishing kiddos, and with live music and entertainment stationed along Sims Rd., there’s plenty of holiday revelry to be had by all. Oceanside Harbor Parade of Lights

One of San Diego’s favorite events is back again this year! Line the shore as fishing boats, sailboats, yachts, kayaks and dingys decked out in beautiful lights and decorations coast into the harbor. If you’re looking for the best spot, try heading over to the side of the harbor close to the police station to get a two-sided view of the parade. The event is free.

Connect La Mesa Block Party

Experience the Connect La Mesa 2015 Block Party! Get connected with friends, family, destinations, and all things La Mesa when you join the rest of your community this Saturday, November 14 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm in the La Mesa Farmer’s Market Parking Lot behind City Hall. This is a fun packed event focusing on healthy activity, our urban environment, energy efficiency, and connecting you with essential destinations, services, and opportunities to Live Well in La Mesa.

Kids bring your bikes (don’t forget your helmet) and test your riding skills at the bike rodeo. You can also take a Tree Trail Tour, learn what a “parklet” is all about, experience boot camp, yoga, and cycle track demonstrations, play a giant Scrabble game, and learn more about La Mesa’s Urban Trails Action Plan. SDG&E will be on hand in the City’s Climate Action Plan booth with helpful energy saving tips. While visiting the booth, take this opportunity to complete the Climate Action Plan survey and get a ticket for a free lunch sponsored by SDG&E (while supplies last).
