Latin American Art Festival

Latin American Art Festival is an annual event that presents outdoor exhibits, painting, sculpture, photography and printmaking among other disciplines, plus crafts, performing arts and culinary arts of Latin American countries.

It is the only festival of its kind in Southern California. It takes place during the month of March with the aim of bringing all residents of San Diego County, Orange County and Los Angeles, the artistic expressions of the Latin American community. Latin American Art Festival highlights the cultural richness of Latin America to strengthen the heritage and sense of belonging among the Hispanic community, showing the diversity of the communities to art enthusiasts, collectors and gallery owners on both sides of the border.

Art Around Adams 2013: Ten Years on the Avenue!

Celebrating its first decade milestone this year, the tenth annual Art Around Adams event titled “Art Around Adams 2013: Ten Years on the Avenue!” will take place on Saturday, June 1. The music and art walk extends over 2 miles on Adams Avenue in the Normal Heights and Kensington communities running from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. A free and family-friendly event, Art Around Adams 2013: Ten Years on the Avenue! will showcase numerous visual and performance artists, stretching from Oregon street in Normal Heights to Vista street in Kensington. More than 100 businesses will change into impromptu art galleries and/or performance arenas for the day. The event kicks off with introductions from Mayor Bob Filner and Council President Todd Gloria, followed by meet & greets with them. The event consists of over nine performance areas (including a new “Kids Zone”) featuring music, performance art, creation of large scale murals, circus performers, dance, theatre, projection art, intergalactic superhero wrestling, comedians, a CD release party, and a free screening of the Disney/Pixar film Monsters, Inc.

Event: 21st Annual Oceanside Days of Art

Oceanside Days of ArtThis weekend, there’s a free event in San Diego county: the 21st Annual Oceanside Days of Art, organized by the Oceanside Cultural Arts Foundation!

The 21st annual Oceanside Days of Art is a free family art festival featuring over 120 local artists selling a variety of fine art including paintings, sculptures, stained glass, ceramics, fine jewelry, photography and more. The festival also offers live stage performances, free hands on art activities for all ages, and a delicious variety of food choices in the food court.
