San Diego County Events for March 30 – April 1

Happy Easter! In between church and/or family gatherings, head over to a couple of these fun activities for the weekend!

Bring your family down for an “eggs-sighting” time learning about animals that lay eggs. Help us find sea turtle eggs scattered throughout the aquarium or discover what it takes to build a turtle nest. And of course, there will be up-close encounters with the egg-layers of the natural world.

Spring Harp Fest

If you enjoy deep-rooted, down-home Americana blues? Join us tomorrow at Harry Griffen Park for Spring Harp Fest from 10 am – 6 pm. This year La Mesa is welcoming “Blues Hall of Fame” member Lazy Lester, San Diego’s own Bayou Brothers, and many more soulful acts.

Easter Egg Hunt

You’ll want to hop on over to the Children’s Nature Retreat for our Easter Egg Hunt and look for the “Special Retreat Egg.”  The big hunt begins at 10:30am on Saturday, March 31st. There will be plenty of candy-filled eggs hidden around the Retreat for even the most inexperienced egg seeker.

Along with the hunt, there will be a keeper talk with a special appearance by our big 10-pound white bunny, Easter, at 11:30AM at the picnic area.  Come hear the story of how Easter showed up at the Retreat and learn all about our soft, furry friends.

Encinitas Spring Egg Hunt

The City of Encinitas presents its annual Spring Egg Hunt. Adding to the fun in addition to the 20,000 eggs, this year they’ve got two live shows from Hullabaloo.

East Village Opening Day

Swing into the 2018 baseball season with the 8th Annual East Village Opening Day Weekend Block Party!

“Root, root, root for the home team!” as the San Diego Padres play the Milwaukee Brewers during the 2018 opening ballgame. This free, family-friendly community event has become a San Diego tradition where locals and visitors show off their team spirit at PETCO Park while exploring East Village.

With games, live entertainment featuring local bands and DJs, baseball-themed beverages, and tons of tasty grub, this weekend is sure to be a Grand Slam!

The 4th Annual Lake Jennings Spring Carnival is right around the corner!

The Kids Pond will be fully stocked for kiddos under 10 to catch a fish in!
1,700 lbs of trout will be stocked that week!
2,000 Egg Hunt for children under 10 will be held in Hermits Cove promptly at 1:00 p.m. with a special sectioned off area for those 3 and under.
Free Hot Dogs will be served starting at 11:30 a.m. in Hermits Cove as well!

Spring Tails

Spring Tails is the perfect program for a class field trip, Scout outing, or play group activity because it makes science egg-citing! Hop on over for a  60 or 90 minute adventure that includes HANDS-ON animal interactions, a spring themed craft, and lessons about life cycles, baby animals and other changes that occur during spring.

6th Annual Bankers Hill Art & Craft Beer Festival

Following last year’s sold out event, the Bankers Hill Art & Craft Beer Festival in partnership with the San Diego Brewers Guild will return for its sixth year on Friday, March 23 from 6 to 9 p.m. Taking place throughout the two levels of The Abbey on Fifth Avenue, a historic 10,000-square foot venue, this 21+ event will showcase San Diego breweries and Bankers Hill restaurants alongside pop-up galleries of local artists’ works.

This year’s festival will feature larger tasting glasses for guests who will have unlimited access to complimentary 2-ounce pours from approximately fifteen breweries

Carlsbad Flower Fields

On March 24 and 25, enjoy full days of fun at The Flower Fields with Kids’ Day. Saturday features a bounce house, woodworking with The Children’s Workshop, drumming, bubble making and more. Sunday we will have Star Kids Theater, Ballooning and face painting!

Spring is in the air and Carlsbad is in bloom at the Flower Fields, open now through May 13. Take yourself out of the ordinary and spend a few hours in one of nature’s wonders – our Fields of Dreams, our Fields of Color. A place where kids can run and adults can linger – 50 acres of extraordinary color in bloom on a hillside overlooking the Pacific Ocean, with a special nursery, garden, and gift shop by Armstrong Garden Centers, and festivals throughout the season.

Egg Hunt Spring Eggstravaganza At San Dieguito County Park

This free, family event includes two egg hunts, arts and crafts, games, face painting and more. There will even be special golden eggs with bonus prizes inside! All ages are welcome to attend.
