As always, there’s many fun events to choose from this weekend! Go to El Cajon’s Dinner and a Concert, the Fiesta Del Sol, the San Diego Taco Fest, or any one of the other great options!

Old House Fair

The 20th annual Old House Fair is South Park’s historic home tour bringing together vintage home specialists, historic preservation enthusiasts, home owners and history lovers in celebration of the historic homes and character of our neighborhood.  This year we celebrate South Park’s newly designated historic district – bounded by 28th Street to the west, Elm Street to the north, 31st Street to the east and A Street to the south.

Annual Fiesta do Espirito Santo

Celebrate Portuguese Heritage by joining in the city’s oldest ethnic festival, Festa do Espirito Santo, that commemorates Portugal’s Queen St. Isabel. In San Diego, the Festa do Espírito Santo is the oldest ethnic religious celebration, dating back to the time when the first families settled here in 1884 and was formally organized in 1910.

Escondido Grand Ave Festival

The Grand Ave Festival is one of the biggest street fairs in Southern California, with over 500 vendors, and has been happening since 1989…bringing unique crafts and imports, fine international cuisine and family entertainment to Historic Downtown Escondido’s Grand Avenue.

Every 3rd Sunday in May and October…come out and enjoy the fun, food, music, games, activities and shopping!

El Cajon Dinner and a Concert

One of El Cajon’s premier events, our Dinner & a Concert Series is back again this year in the center of Downtown El Cajon. Dinner & A Concert is a weekly concert and dance hosted by Downtown El Cajon Business Partners, performed on the Prescott Promenade, which is surrounded by a variety of restaurants. Thousands of people from all over San Diego County arrive to see and listen to many of our local bands and musicians. Friday Night Liberty

Global Winter Wonderland: Circus of Light

This 17-acre holiday festival is in San Diego for the first time ever this season, up and running at SDCCU Stadium through Jan. 7, 2018. The family-friendly international celebration features the largest display of traditional Chinese lanterns outside of China, plus acrobatics performances, carnival rides, holiday-themed activities, games, food and shopping. The little ones can even write letters to Santa Claus and visit sections like Toyland, Candyland and the North Pole. Global Winter Wonderland opens daily at either 4:30 p.m. or 5 p.m. but is closed on some dates.

Summer Movies in the Park

Summer Movies in the Park is a series of free outdoor movie screenings in community parks and recreation centers throughout San Diego.

Landlubbers Day

Avast, me hearties! In celebration of International Talk Like a Pirate Day, Seaport Village is hosting the third annual Landlubbers Day, a festive celebration of all things pirate. Held Saturday, September 16 from noon to 4 p.m. the free event features live music from the Jackstraws, San Diego’s very own pirate-themed band; costume and “Talk Like a Pirate” contests for kids, adults and pets; a mermaid grotto; arts and crafts; and food and drink specials from Seaport Village shops and eateries.

Foothills Christian Church in El Cajon will host its annual Easter in the Courtyard on Saturday which includes an egg hunt boasting 14,000 Easter eggs. Also on the agenda: jumpy houses, carnival games, a shop-and-swap zone and food for sale from Ray’s BBQ.

The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch

The famous Flower Fields in Carlsbad Ranch officially opened for the season on March 1; the fields are open daily, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., through May 14. Patrons will enjoy nearly 50 acres of colorful displays of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers, which are in bloom for six to eight weeks. The famous fields also include roses, orchids, sweet pea blossoms, petunias and poinsettias.

This Sunday, there will also be an Easter service at 6:30am, as well as The Bayou Brothers performing 1-5pm.
