We bring professionals from across the country to perform their bizarre talents from sword swallowing to knife throwing to pogo stick tricks and juggling on unicycles. Throughout the two-day festival, some of the nation’s top performers fill the bay front village drawing visitors to shop, dine and enjoy an entire day of one-of-a-kind entertainment.

Sixth Annual St. Patrick’s Day Half Marathon/5K

Carlsbad Flower Fields

Spring is in the air and Carlsbad is in bloom at the Flower Fields, open now through May 13. Take yourself out of the ordinary and spend a few hours in one of nature’s wonders – our Fields of Dreams, our Fields of Color. A place where kids can run and adults can linger – 50 acres of extraordinary color in bloom on a hillside overlooking the Pacific Ocean, with a special nursery, garden, and gift shop by Armstrong Garden Centers, and festivals throughout the season.

Circus Vargas

Circus Vargas has been making its rounds and, this weekend, it keeps the show going at Escondido Westfield North County. The traveling show boasts thrilling performances by acrobats, daredevils, flying trapeze artists, jugglers, contortionists, comics and more. The Circus Vargas theme is “Dreaming of Pirates,” so attendees can expect some swashbuckling surprises. Take the family 30 minutes before show time and enjoy a special, free pre-show where kids can create their own magic under the big top. Tickets range from $15 to $72; kids age 2 and under get in free with a paying adult, so long as they sit on an adult’s lap. Circus Vargas will be in Escondido through this Monday before moving north to Temecula on March 8.

Spring Home & Garden Show

Get inspiration for the home improvement project of your dreams at the 33rd annual Spring Home & Garden Show at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. This three-day expo will showcase some of the newest trends in home renovation while giving access to the best tools, experts, and businesses to help complete those projects. Tickets cost $9 per day. The Home & Garden Show runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Sunday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.

31st Annual Koi Show

Koi fish have become known as “living jewels” because of their bright orange hues and quick movements in the water that seem to make them reflect. This weekend, hundreds of the magnificent fish will be on display for a Koi pond competition at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Guests can learn how to create a water garden in their backyard to keep Koi as pets or just soak in the wonder of the fish. The event is free but parking at the fairgrounds is $14.

The 41-year-old Fred Hall Show at the Del Mar Fairgrounds is the largest outdoor recreation show in the nation’s fifth largest county. It is San Diego’s biggest fishing show, biggest boat show and biggest outdoor recreation event of the year. The show features nearly 500 booths, hundreds of boats, vehicles, campers and RV’s. Over 200 outdoor recreation seminars will take place over the 4 days of this show.

2017 San Diego Beatles Fair

Rolando Street Fair

Stars at West Sycamore

Join the San Diego Astronomy Association (SDAA) for this springtime stargazing session at Mission Trails Regional Park Friday night. Weather permitting, the group meets at the West Sycamore staging area located at the east end of Stoneybridge Parkway in Scripps Ranch. The event is free; and there will even be telescopes that you can use.

13th Annual Carlsbad Music Festival

Imperial Avenue Street Festival

The Imperial Avenue Street Festival blends art and soul in one of San Diego’s most historic and unique neighborhoods. Grand Avenue Festival

At the Grand Avenue Festival, 500 vendors, children’s rides and activities will line the streets of Escondido Sunday as residents come out to enjoy rides, live music and children’s games. 36th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Irish Festival

All of San Diego County is invited to come this weekend to enjoy all things Irish, at the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Irish Festival! There will be live entertainment on two stages, Irish food, festivities, vendors, and a beer garden. There’s a Celtic Village, games, activities, an art contest, dancing, and music for children.

The festival runs from 9am to 6pm, and the parade begins at 10:30am.

Swing Dancing on Broadway Pier

Supermoon lunar eclipse

On Sunday night, the moon will be full and in its closest point in its orbit around the Earth, making it a “supermoon”. At the same time, a lunar eclipse will occur — where the Earth will line up directly in between the sun and moon. And since the light will reflect off the Earth’s atmosphere, the moon will look red, making it a “blood moon”. Read more about this interesting event here.

Chinese Moon Festival
