The Spreckels Organ Society lights up San Diego summer nights with the International Summer Organ Festival ­– an inspiring lineup of free outdoor concerts at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park, each designed to demonstrate the fresh sound of the historic 1914 Spreckels Organ, the largest outdoor pipe organ in the world.

The 2018 Festival features virtuoso performances by world-class organists, acclaimed string and organ duos, Rising Stars Night with 15-year-old twin organists, the always popular Spreckels Silent Movie Night, and Rocking Balboa: A Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin Tribute.

Taste of San Diego

Tap that Glass

Surfside Tap Room, a craft beer store in Oceanside, is hosting a summer hangout party every Sunday night at their seaside location. The free dog- and family-friendly event features an array of food trucks, a DJ spinning tunes, and a selection of pop-up shops with local artisan goods. RSVP in advance.

Food Truck Fridays

Food trucks will swamp Balboa Park every Friday this summer. A lineup of about a dozen food trucks will rotate each week through September 28 at Plaza de Panama ready to feed hungry guests while listening to a variety of live music. Visitors are invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit in front of the Botanical Building as they eat, or enjoy craft beer, wine and cocktails inside nearby restaurants. Booths will be set up with activities for kids and Balboa Park will introduce a “living room” area filled with giant lawn games. Surrounding museums will extend hours to accommodate guests and the San Diego Museum of Art will offer $5 admission after 5 p.m.

One of El Cajon’s premier events, our Dinner & a Concert Series is back again this year in the center of Downtown El Cajon. Dinner & A Concert is a weekly concert and dance hosted by Downtown El Cajon Business Partners, performed on the Prescott Promenade, which is surrounded by a variety of restaurants. Thousands of people from all over San Diego County arrive to see and listen to many of our local bands and musicians. Join us Friday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 PM for a great time and great food from our downtown restaurants.

Once a month, Santee Lakes will screen a different family-friendly film for Movies and More by the Lake, like this month’s pick, “Lego Batman.” The event is free but parking costs $10. Attendees are encouraged to dress up as their favorite superhero for the event.

The 39th Annual Ocean Beach Street Fair & Chili Cook-Off Festival will offer attendees eclectic fun in the sun for all ages. A San Diego Father’s Day weekend tradition, the San Diego Wooden Boat Festival is the premier annual event for Southern California wooden boat enthusiasts and provides a rare opportunity for the general public to view some of the most beautiful and well maintained wooden crafts up close. While this event features mostly well preserved vintage vessels there are also plenty of new crafts that have been hand crafted with skill and meticulous detail.

Belmont Park 5th Annual Father’s Day Fest & Car Show

This Father’s Day, treat dad to a special day at the beach and cruise on down to Belmont Park for their FREE annual Car Show on Sunday, June 17th from 10am-3pm located in the North Parking Lot at 3146 Ocean Front Walk. Get your fix of classic cars and more at this FREE event before cruising over to Draft or Beach House with the family. There will be nearly 100 cars including a selection of restored classic cars to enjoy.

Asian Pacific Historic District Walking Tour

The San Diego Chinese Historical Museum and the Asian Pacific Historic Collaborative are offering a docent-led tour of San Diego’s Asian Pacific Historic District on the second Saturday of each month.

Visitors will walk through the Gaslamp Quarter and Asian Pacific Historic District to see the sites of Asian Americans who populated the area beginning in the 1850s and explore the Chinese, Japanese and Filipino districts that once filled the area.

Music En La Calle: Free Music Festival And Street Fair

Bodhi Tree Concerts will present Music En La Calle a free, multicultural, all day, outdoor music festival in City Heights on Saturday, June 16 from Noon – 10 p.m. The artist line up will include: Tom Cunningham Bluegrass, Music and Dance of Africa, China, & Burma, Fern Street Circus, Opera de Tijuana and Irving Flores Latin Jazz – just to name a few!

One of El Cajon’s premier events, our Dinner & a Concert Series is back again this year in the center of Downtown El Cajon. Dinner & A Concert is a weekly concert and dance hosted by Downtown El Cajon Business Partners, performed on the Prescott Promenade, which is surrounded by a variety of restaurants. Thousands of people from all over San Diego County arrive to see and listen to many of our local bands and musicians. Across the county, cities are taking part in the movie screenings at local outdoor parks. Santee Street Fair & Craft Beer Festival

Join the Santee Street Fair & Craft Beer Festival at Santee Lakes. Hundreds of food and retail vendors, plus live entertainment and a kid zone, will fill the park for the free Santee Street Fair. Vista Strawberry Festival

The Vista Strawberry Festival is the only festival in San Diego County that celebrates all the joys and pleasure of the Strawberry.
