This 8th annual event takes place in San Diego’s flagship arts and culture district, NTC @ Liberty Station,  once San Diego’s Naval Training Center, and now a mecca for artist studios, galleries, museums and performing arts groups.

This fine art festival is part of the ArtWalk San Diego brand known for bringing together all facets of the arts in San Diego while promoting the experience of owning original art.

This August, ArtWalk @NTC is set to draw more than 100 artists, a dozen musical  performers, gourmet food and interactive kids’ activities at KidsWalk. The new destination for the festival is complemented by an array of dining options at this scenic venue.

Attendees will be able to experience art “alfresco.” ArtWalk @NTC brings fine art outside under San Diego’s sunny skies to create the perfect viewing art under natural light and purchase artwork directly from the finest artists in the region. Attendees get to meet with artists and hear what inspires them about their work. Visit the USS Midway Museum

USS MidwayHere in San Diego, the USS Midway makes its home. It’s one of the longest-serving aircraft carriers in the United States, and is an appropriate activity this weekend, with the 4th of July having been yesterday.

Visitors to the floating museum walk the same pathways that 225,000 Midway sailors did during the Vietnam war. The museum hosts: “more than 60 exhibits with a collection of 29 restored aircraft. The self-guided audio tour, narrated by Midway sailors, brings the carrier’s history to life. Those who dare can ‘take to the sky’ aboard one of two flight simulators” (www.midway.org).

Consider taking a family trip to the USS Midway Museum and enjoy a memorable part of San Diego and a piece of US history. More details about the museum, hours, and more can be found at the website, www. Midway.org.
