Cook With an Italian Chef & Market Tour
Become a master chef all while discovering Little Italy’s charming mercato. After selecting ingredients at the mercato together with the chef, then with your Italian chef, you’ll prep 3 dishes from scratch. The menu will vary based on what’s seasonal. You’ll learn to prep 1 appetizer and 2 main courses—uncovering the secrets to Italian home cooking. In addition, you’ll enjoy a glass of wine and our famous panna cotta for dessert. This class is a fun mix of hands-on cooking and chef-led demos.

Best Coast Beer Fest 2019
You’ll get to taste beer from nearly 100 of the West Coast’s craft breweries, enjoy entertainment from local bands and snack at the food truck alley.

The Oddities & Curiosities Expo
The Oddities & Curiosities Expo travels to the Del Mar Fairgrounds Saturday, taking over O’Brien Hall. It’s all about the weird here, with local and national vendors offering items like taxidermy, odd antiques, jewelry made from insects, and more. The expo also features sideshow-style performers, including a “live human suspension” team.

Pioneer Family Fun: Sikes Adobe Historic Farmstead, Escondido
Interested in a fun family weekend? Join SDRVC for an interactive day at the Sikes Adobe Historic Farmstead, where participants (ages 7 – 12) will learn what it was like to be a pioneering family, how the community functioned through crop production, trading and animals that provided food and milk, and the importance of the natural environment in daily living.
As a part of the Watershed Explorers Program, families are encouraged to participate as a whole!
Please wear closed toed shoes, pants, and a jacket in case of inclement weather. It is also recommended to bring water and a snack.

Friends of the La Mesa Library 50th Birthday Party
Join the Friends of the La Mesa Library to commemorate our 50th Anniversary! The Shirthouse Band will kick off the party at 11 a.m. followed by crafts & face painting for the the kids at noon. Local singer-songwriter Sara Petite will take the stage at 1 p.m.
