Easter Bunny Hut

On Sunday, March 31st Rolando welcomes all to one of San Diego’s only neighborhood street fairs.  With 6 bands, local performances, over 150 vendors, a beer garden and an interactive kids area, this all day event is free to enter and has fun for everyone.   Enjoy live music, grab a bite to eat and enjoy a beer with friends.  Check out up-and-coming talent on the community stage, browse local arts and crafts, or just let the kids run wild through the inflatables and activities of the kids zone.

Nature Day

The 13th day of the first month of the Persian calendar is a special day for celebration. It’s a day for Iranian families to come together for an outdoor picnic and to appreciate the beauty of nature. Families will celebrate with Persian folk music, food, and dancing.

Water Lantern Festival

This nationwide Water Lantern Festival will happen this weekend at San Diego’s Chollas Lake Saturday evening. The community event invites attendees to decorate a lantern to then launch into the lake. The sight of floating lanterns dancing on the water is sure to be spectacular. The festival also includes food trucks, music, and fun activities.

Peter and the Wolf: The Prokofiev Classic

Conductor Dana Sadava, narrator Nuvi Mehta, and students from the San Diego State University Community Music School come together for this symphonic telling of the classic tale of a young boy who outsmarts a wolf. Each character is portrayed by a different instrument. This performance is part of the San Diego Symphony’s Family Series, so little ones are encouraged to attend with their parents.

The ice rink will be open every day except Thanksgiving and Christmas from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM until Sunday, January 6th. Tickets are good for in-and-out access throughout the day they are purchased for and include a pair of skates and an optional helmet. All proceeds from the ice rink benefit the Rady Children’s Hospital’s Peckham Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders.

Kids Free October

October is Kids Free month in San Diego at more than 100 participating restaurants, attractions and hotels. That means free meals, free admission to theme parks, museums and more, and free gifts at several other locations. Kids can take a dive at Legoland when an adult buys their ticket, visit the animals at either the San Diego Zoo or San Diego Zoo Safari Park (or both!), or dine free at Carnitas Snack Shack, just to name a few. Carlsbad Music Festival

The 15th annual Carlsbad Music Festival is a 3-day summer celebration of “adventurous music by the beach” on Friday-Sunday, August 24-26, 2018, in the charming seaside Village of Carlsbad. The Festival, called “one of the area’s most innovative music showcases” by KPBS, features 60+ performances of creative music of all kinds curated by Founder and Artistic Director, composer/violinist Matt McBane. These include ticketed Mainstage Concerts, dozens of FREE outdoor concerts all weekend, and a beer garden, food trucks, and artisan market.

Grunion Run

In what may be its last run of the season, thousands of grunion, slim silver fish, will come out of the water and onto the shoreline to spawn. To see the natural event that happens only a handful of days throughout the year, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife recommends heading to a San Diego County beach with a flashlight. Runs are expected through Tuesday at various times but sightings are not guaranteed. Grunion sightings may occur at: Oceanside Pier View North Beach, Oceanside Harbor Beach, Del Mar Beach, La Jolla Shores, Mission Beach, Ocean Beach, Coronado and Coronado Shores Beach and Imperial Beach.

Sunday Organ Concert

Enjoy a free, hour-long organ concert Sunday at Balboa Park’s famed Spreckels Organ Pavilion. At the keys, the audience will find Raul Prieto Ramirez, the city’s newest San Diego Civic Organist and Artistic Director of the Spreckels Organ Society. Prieto Ramirez hails from Spain and, as he told NBC 7, hopes to keep the program interesting – from Bach to Queen – at the historic Spreckels Organ.

Bazaar Del Mundo’s Annual Latin American Festival & Mata Ortiz Pottery Market

Colorful wood carvings, hand-woven wool rugs, embroidered dresses and hand-crafted pottery are just some of the goods you’ll find at the annual Bazaar del Mundo’s Latin American Festival. The marketplace will also be alive with musical entertainment, plus performances by traditional Chinelos dancers.

Oceanside International Film Festival 2018

The Oceanside International Film Festival officially returns this August for five days’ worth of independent cinema.

The event, which is now entering its eighth annual edition, offers local and international filmmakers the opportunity to screen to a wide audience. Attendees this year can expect to see over 50 films from all over the world, comprising of a vast array of topics and genre.

Food Truck Fridays

Food trucks will swamp Balboa Park every Friday this summer. A lineup of about a dozen food trucks will rotate each week through September 28 at Plaza de Panama ready to feed hungry guests while listening to a variety of live music. Visitors are invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit in front of the Botanical Building as they eat, or enjoy craft beer, wine and cocktails inside nearby restaurants. Booths will be set up with activities for kids and Balboa Park will introduce a “living room” area filled with giant lawn games. Surrounding museums will extend hours to accommodate guests and the San Diego Museum of Art will offer $5 admission after 5 p.m.

El Cajon Dinner and a Concert

One of El Cajon’s premier events, our Dinner & a Concert Series is back again this year in the center of Downtown El Cajon. Dinner & A Concert is a weekly concert and dance hosted by Downtown El Cajon Business Partners, performed on the Prescott Promenade, which is surrounded by a variety of restaurants. Thousands of people from all over San Diego County arrive to see and listen to many of our local bands and musicians. Join us Friday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 PM for a great time and great food from our downtown restaurants.

Superheroes In The Sand is the theme for this year’s Festival.  The 2018 Imperial Beach Sun & Sea Festival will feature world-class sandcastle sculptors creating some of the best sand creations on the West Coast as well as a community parade and pancake breakfast, live music, children’s craft activities and a Kids ‘n Kastles competition.

Bayside Summer Nights: Rick Springfield

The San Diego Symphony’s annual summer concert series along the waterfront returns for the 2018 season. This weekend, the musician behind chart-topping hits like “Jessie’s Girl” and “Love Somebody” will rock on stage along San Diego Bay.

Grunion Run

It’s a spectacle to behold when thousands of grunion, slim silver fish, come out of the water and onto the shoreline to spawn. To see the natural event that happens only a handful of days throughout the year, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife recommends heading to a San Diego County beach with a flashlight. Runs are expected through Sunday at various times but sightings are not guaranteed. Grunion sightings may occur at: Oceanside Pier View North Beach, Oceanside Harbor Beach, Del Mar Beach, La Jolla Shores, Mission Beach, Ocean Beach, Coronado and Coronado Shores Beach and Imperial Beach.

Festival of the Bells

This event celebrates the founding of Mission Basilica San Diego De Alcala nearly 250 years ago. The event will feature food, games and live entertainment at the historical landmark. All five of the mission’s bells will be rung during the weekend’s activities, including the original bell dating back to 1802.

Food Truck Fridays

Food trucks will swamp Balboa Park every Friday this summer. A lineup of about a dozen food trucks will rotate each week through September 28 at Plaza de Panama ready to feed hungry guests while listening to a variety of live music. Visitors are invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit in front of the Botanical Building as they eat, or enjoy craft beer, wine and cocktails inside nearby restaurants. Booths will be set up with activities for kids and Balboa Park will introduce a “living room” area filled with giant lawn games. Surrounding museums will extend hours to accommodate guests and the San Diego Museum of Art will offer $5 admission after 5 p.m.

El Cajon Dinner and a Concert

One of El Cajon’s premier events, our Dinner & a Concert Series is back again this year in the center of Downtown El Cajon. Dinner & A Concert is a weekly concert and dance hosted by Downtown El Cajon Business Partners, performed on the Prescott Promenade, which is surrounded by a variety of restaurants. Thousands of people from all over San Diego County arrive to see and listen to many of our local bands and musicians. Join us Friday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 PM for a great time and great food from our downtown restaurants.
