San Diego Beer Fest

The 6th annual San Diego Brew Fest returns to Liberty Station, and promising another fun filled day with beer, food trucks, and music. The event will feature dozens of local local and international craft beers, as well as San Diego’s most popular food trucks (food sold separately).

Admission is $40 for general admission (2pm to 5pm) and $50 for VIP (1pm to 5pm) and include the beer tastings.

Gourmet Food Truck Festival

Inaugural Coronado Island Film Festival

The Coronado Island Film Festival is an inaugural event that celebrates Coronado’s connection to Old Hollywood and features celebrity guest Leonard Maltin.

Held from Friday, Jan. 15 to Monday, Jan. 18, 2016, the festival will show 85 films ranging from documentaries and war movies to comedies and Hollywood classics.

California Cartography At The La Jolla Map Museum: A Knowledge Commons San Diego Free Class

Knowledge Commons San Diego is a new free school for free thinkers. Unique free classes taught by San Diegans, for San Diegans. Join us for our Winter 2016 session!

We will embark on a fascinating journey through time and space, as Captain Cloward walks us through the collection, featuring maps right from the first millennium (we get to point and laugh at their zany ideas!), some of the earliest maps of the Americas, and even a few maps that show what the early explorers thought about California (you’ll be surprised!).

We’ll also get to view and discuss some early maps of San Diego. We’ll learn navigational techniques, map conservation techniques and more! This will be a history lesson unlike any other.

Encinitas Parks and Recreation Café’s Soiree

Encinitas’ Parks and Recreation office will celebrate the New Year – and the center’s spruced up amenities – with a special “soiree” that includes farm-to-table food, live music, dancing, art galleries, craft beer, classic cars and raffles. 2016 soundON Festival of Modern Music

The 2016 soundON Festival of Modern Music: APOCALYPSE AND TRANSFIGURATION. Replete with evocative and powerful imagery, classic Jewish and Christian apocalypses (the most well-known being the first century Apocalypse of John or Book of Revelation) portray an imminent end of history, and are characterized by descriptions of a supernatural world and the fate of the dead. Yet many were written to comfort and encourage a people in crisis, and thus in a sense are documents of hope, pointing to an ultimate transfiguration of existence.

Supermoon lunar eclipse

On Sunday night, the moon will be full and in its closest point in its orbit around the Earth, making it a “supermoon”. At the same time, a lunar eclipse will occur — where the Earth will line up directly in between the sun and moon. And since the light will reflect off the Earth’s atmosphere, the moon will look red, making it a “blood moon”. Read more about this interesting event here.

The 35th Annual Padres Tailgate and Fire Fighter Chili Cook-off

Go to Embarcadero Marina Park South for the 35th Annual Padres Tailgate and Fire Fighter Chili Cook-off to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association, then head on over to Petco Park for an exciting game of Padres baseball!

Sponsored by San Diego City Fire Fighters Local 145, more than 25 local fire departments are expected to compete for bragging rights for the best firehouse chili in all of San Diego. The Padres Tailgate & Fire Fighter Chili Cook-off will feature all-you-can-eat hamburgers, hot dogs, bratwurst and snacks

Admission is all inclusive! $50 for adults and $20 for children includes a ticket to the Padres vs. Marlins game at Petco Park that evening.

Event: Spring Busker Festival in Seaport Village

 Seaport Village will welcome strange and extraordinary acts from around the world to its 8th annual Spring Busker Festival. The celebration brings colorful street performers – from jugglers on unicycles to stilt walkers, contortionists and acrobalancers – to the waterfront shopping, dining and entertainment district. Aside from the remarkable performances, visitors will enjoy special sales from more than 50 shops, restaurants and eateries at Seaport Village.
