The La Mesa Village Association’s new event, Holiday in the Village, follows a long history of Christmas in the Village events. They will have fire pits, caroling, lots of events for kids, and craft vendors to get everyone in the mood of the season! Walk the streets of La Mesa’s historic downtown and enjoy live music and dance, cozy fires, craft vendors, food, and a kids’ area with holiday movies and activities.

Harbor Parade of Lights: Oceanside

Bring a blanket, some hot chocolate and pick a comfortable spot to watch this years Parade of Lights celebration in the quaint Oceanside Harbor. Fishing boats, sail boats, yachts, kayaks and dingys will all be dressed-up in holiday swag and circling Oceanside Harbor enchanting onlookers along the harbor and at the neighboring restaurants. Many of the boats even feature people dressed up like Santa waving to the crowd!

Christmas in the Park

Christmas tree lighting at 5:15 PM, followed by the arrival of Santa at 5:30 PM. Horse-drawn hay and pony rides, petting zoo, and face painting. Speeder rides, model trains, and live entertainment. Holiday sweets and warm dinner foods.

Rady Children’s Ice Rink at Liberty Station

Rady Children’s Hospital Auxiliary presents another holiday season of outdoor ice skating with support from SENTRE Inc., NBC 7 San Diego, ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station and many friends of Rady Children’s.

All proceeds from this event benefit the Peckham Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Rady Children’s.

Dreidel Day with Literature Comes to Life

37th Annual PB Holiday Parade

This year marks the 37th Annual PB Holiday Parade! Please join us for this fun filled community event to celebrate the holidays together in Pacific Beach. Annual Winter Concert

The first part of our concert will feature the seasonal favorite, Handel’s Messiah. Enjoy the beautiful and intricate melodies as performed by the Chorus and local professional solists. The second half of the program will include a variety of seasonal music. Regular concert-goers will know that there is always a surprise or two along with familiar carols and songs.

Encinitas Holiday Parade

For the 60th year, Encinitas will kick off the holiday season at the 2017 Encinitas Holiday Parade, presented by Lazy Acres Natural Market on Saturday, December 2.  Thousands of people will be on floats, on foot, in cars, and marching in bands while tens of thousands cheer them along the Parade route along Coast Highway 101.  The nighttime parade theme for 2017 is “Celebrating the Arts!”

Winter Wonderland Festival

San Diego County Events for December 2 – 4

Christmastime is upon us, with plenty of festivities in the San Diego County area to enjoy the holiday season! There are several events happening today, Friday Dec. 2, through Sunday.

Balboa Park’s biggest event of the year returns this weekend, kicking off the holiday season with food, live music, dancing, shopping and free admission to museums. December Nights runs for two nights – Dec. 2 and Dec. 3 – from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. and 12 p.m. to 11 p.m., respectively. Museums are open and free both nights, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

2016 Chula Vista Starlight Parade

The 2016 Chula Vista Starlight Parade will take place on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016 with Frosty’s Snow Hill opening at noon, followed by the parade beginning at 6 p.m.

The famous Chula Vista Starlight Parade is San Diego County’s largest nighttime parade, filled with twinkling lights, holiday décor and activities for the whole family to enjoy! From noon to 5 p.m., children can take FREE sled rides on REAL SNOW down Frosty’s Snow Hill. And the whole family can dine at Snack Alley on Park Way, or at one of the many eateries along Third Avenue.

Queen Bee Market

The urban-style handmade market Queen Bee is hosting their largest event of the holiday season this weekend. Stop by the industrial warehouse to browse through more than 85 local and national vendors. Attendees will be able to shop vintage and homemade products as they listen to live music.

Holiday Tree Lighting and Winter Wonderland Festival

Every year, the Center brings the North Pole to the heart of Escondido. Children will have the chance to frolic in real snow, decorate their very own Christmas cookies and even rendezvous with live reindeer!

The highlight for kids is, of course, Santa Claus himself, but there will also be a number of holiday-themed entertainers—from carolers, to stilt walkers, to hula dancers—for all ages to enjoy. Food and drink will be available to warm your hands and hearts, and a number of local businesses will be displaying their wares for your holiday shopping needs.

Liberty Station Holiday Walkabout

Liberty Station’s Holiday Walkabout will kick off a new quarterly community-driven ‘walkabout’ series on Saturday, December 12th.

Take in the thousands of twinkling lights and festoons of holiday decor within the neighborhood’s north end “Arts District” (between Roosevelt Rd and Lytton St). Feast on complimentary holiday-inspired tastes and sips from favorite local eateries, wander the endless artisan galleries and boutiques for the perfect gift, or hit the new ice rink for an evening of family-fun. Liberty Station’s hoverboarding Surfing’ Santa will touch down to greet well-wishing kiddos, and with live music and entertainment stationed along Sims Rd., there’s plenty of holiday revelry to be had by all. The tour is free.

Oceanside Harbor Parade of Lights

One of San Diego’s favorite events is back again this year! Line the shore as fishing boats, sailboats, yachts, kayaks and dingys decked out in beautiful lights and decorations coast into the harbor. If you’re looking for the best spot, try heading over to the side of the harbor close to the police station to get a two-sided view of the parade. The event is free.

Christmas Events for This Weekend

37th Annual Coronado Christmas Parade & Open House

Friday, December 7  |  3pm – 9pm

Embrace the magical nostalgia of Coronado on Friday, December 7th.  Nowhere else is magical excitement in season than during our annual Christmas Parade, complete with Santa’s arrival by ferry.  This year marks the 37th year the Coronado Chamber of Commerce has hosted the Holiday Open House celebration that has become a tradition for countless San Diego residents and visitors alike.  This special evening showcases the magic of our island and promotes our unique assortment of boutiques and shops, making shopping local easy with Orange Avenue closed to cars from 5-9 PM.   The magical isle of Coronado has so much to offer year round, but it is during the holiday season that our small town truly reflects the magical destination it is….thus the theme of our festivities “Timeless Holiday Magic”…..part fun, part sun, and part fairytale!
