Unleashed by Petco Surf Dog Competition

At the Unleashed by Petco Surf Dog Competition, the most fearless dogs will jump on their boards, paddle out and hang 20! This event must be seen to be believed. Bring the whole family for a day of rad competitions, goodies and fun!

Now in its 11th year, the Surf Dog Competition promises to be a sweet time for two- and four-legged dudes and dudettes. Enter your dog in the surf competition or just come take in all the fun under the sun!

Sip and Spin: A Group Ride and Get-Together

Bring your bike or trike and join the San Diego Museum of Man in decorating your bike wheels, taking a ride through the park, and celebrating at an after-party in the museum’s rotunda. Then all will prepare bike-safety kits for homeless bike riders to benefit the San Diego Rescue Mission.

Live Well San Diego 5K

The 2016 Live Well San Diego 5K will be held at the County Administration Building’s Waterfront Park on Saturday, July 30. This is a family and pet friendly event that goes beyond the 5k to include interactive booths and entertainment for all ages.

36th Annual Tailgate Party & Firefighter Chili Cook-off

The 36th Annual Tailgate Party & Firefighter Chili Cook-off will benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association! Fire Fighter Chili Cook-Off — over 20 local fire departments competing! All you can eat burgers, hot dogs, bratwurst, snacks & chili, live music by Classic Buzz & local microbrew tastings, and with the VIP purchase a Padres vs. Reds game ticket.

Every year, La Mesa Park and Recreation Foundation puts on some free family fun with their Sundays at Six concert series. This Sunday’s concert begins at 6pm, with SILVERMINE – Classic Rock/Pop.

63rd Annual World Championship OTL | Over the Line

“Hosted each July by the Mission Bay Athletic Club (OMBAC), the annual sporting and merrymaking event typically draws about 1,200 teams from around the world to Mission Bay to partake in OTL, a bat and ball sport first played in Mission Beach in the 1950s” (nbcsandiego.com). Over The Line is a public event and requires no ticket or entrance fee to watch the games and enjoy the tournament. This weekend is the second and last weekend of OTL.

When: July 16 & 17 | each day begins at 7:30am until close to sunset

2016 Sun & Sea Festival

Being dubbed, “The Original Imperial Beach Sandcastle Competition,” the 2016 Imperial Beach Sun & Sea Festival will feature world-class sandcastle sculptors creating some of the best sand creations on the West Coast as well as a community parade and pancake breakfast, live music, children’s craft activities, a the Kids n’ Kastles competition, Farmer’s Market and International Food Fair. El Cajon’s 26th Annual Arbor Day Ceremony

The City of El Cajon – a community designated a “Tree City USA” for the past 18 years for its devotion to planting and maintaining trees – will host its 26th Annual Arbor Day Ceremony at Hillside Park (840 Buena Terrace). Volunteers will plant more than 20 new trees in the surrounding park. The event also includes light refreshments and free tree seedlings distributed by SDG&E.
