Presented by Macy’s, this popular event allows participants to enjoy half-off entry fees at 40+ San Diego Museum Council membership museums. The savings encourages locals and visitors to explore a variety of arts, culture and science-oriented destinations. From Oceanside Museum of Art down to the Tijuana Estuary, there are ample opportunities for edutainment, creating memories and fun for the whole family.

Museum Month Passes may be picked up starting February 1, 2016 at any of Macy’s fourteen locations in the San Diego Area, Temecula and Imperial Valley.

When: February 1 – 29, 2016

San Diego Winter Brew Fest


The San Diego Winter Brew Fest will celebrate craft beverages from around California and beyond and features; live local music, food, and other vendors. Sample some amazing brews from more than 40 breweries throughout the night and listen to some great live music!

The 5th Annual Red Ball | Year of the Monkey

year of the monkey 2016Usher in the Lunar New Year at the 5th Annual Red Ball at The Fairmont Grand Del Mar Resort! The Year of the Monkey recurs once every twelve years in the Lunar calendar, and symbolizes optimism, ambition and adventure.

At this 21 & up celebration, guests will enjoy “Lucky Happy Hour” from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, live music by The Mighty Untouchables, live sets by DJ Mike White, a traditional lion dance and more!

Music by the Sea: European Concert Trio

European concert trio Irina Bazik (piano) Harriet Fraser (soprano) and Amanda Walker (clarinet) perform chamber music at the Encinitas Library, taking on works by Mozart, Schubert, Cavallini, Three Folksongs by McCabe, Three Vocalises by Vaughan Williams and piano works by Chopin and Mokranjac.

Cookies and Canvas: Party Penguin

Let your kids create their own masterpiece – which you may or may not end up hanging in your home – while enjoying food. Kids six years and older can unleash their inner Picasso at the event. Admission costs $20 and includes everything you need to recreate the featured painting.

Point Loma Summer Concert

Families, friends and neighbors will enjoy a picnic and settle in for free concerts at Point Loma Park. This year’s lineup promises to please a variety of musical tastes. This year, the concerts will feature young talent on the “Junior Stage” starting at 5:30 PM. Concert goers bring their own seating and/or blankets – and can order dinner from one of our catering sponsors.

Bird Park Summer Concert

For over a decade these free, family-friendly concerts have drawn hundreds of people to the beautiful Bird Park setting for picnics, dancing, and enjoying the music of local talent. This Saturday: Bayou Brothers & Special Guest Robin Henkel – Zydeco and Folk.

Event: North Coast Symphony Orchestra

North Coast Symphony: Summer Sizzle

The North Coast Symphony, under the direction of Daniel Swem, will present its annual pops concert, Summer Sizzle. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets, a hat, and a picnic supper (no alcohol) to enjoy while listening to light classic and pops favorites including “Overture to Orpheus in the Underworld” by Offenbach, the “English Folk Song Suite” by Vaughan Williams, “A Touch of Jazz” arranged by Brubaker, “International Dixieland Festival” arranged by Holcomb, and much more.

This concert is a fundraiser for the San Dieguito Academy Foundation. The suggested donation is $10 general, $8 seniors and students, and $25 for families of three or more. The orchestra is funded in part by the City of Encinitas and the Mizel Family Foundation.

Event: Half-off admission for San Diego Museum Month

It’s not too late to enjoy half-off admission for San Diego’s Museum Month. The program, hosted by Macy’s, lasts until the 29th of February, and is a great way to learn a bit of history, science, or the arts and enjoy yourself! This special event applies to all 40 museums within the San Diego Museum Council membership. Just a few of the museums available to visit for a discount; go to SanDiego.orgfor the full list.

San Diego Museum MonthYou must pick up a Museum Month Pass at any of Macy’s fourteen locations within Temecula, Imperial Valley, or San Diego area. Up to four visitors can use one pass to gain admission for half-off. The amount of admission will vary, as the admission prices are different for each museum. Event: Arts & Culture Fest 2011

San Diego Arts & Culture Fest 2011Celebrate arts and the cultural influences of the Americas, Africa, and Asia at the sixth annual Arts & Culture Fest in San Diego this Saturday.  Three stages of entertainment will present the influences of these three parts of the world, along with an international market and food area, art contests, wine tastings, music, and more.
