2017 Ocean Beach Street Fair and Chili Cook-Off Festival

Join more than 70,000 visitors for the 38th annual oceanfront chili cook-off in Ocean Beach. Live stages of continuous live music and entertainment, the community mural project, Artists Alley, carnival rides and games, food and vendor booths, a beachside beer garden and more.

44th Annual San Diego Scottish Highland Games

Scottish culture will fill the park during the two day festival, which will feature a variety of activities and entertainment for guests of all ages: Sheepdog trials, Highland dancing, Scottish vendors, cuisine and beverages, bagpipe and drumming competitions, clan heritage tents, and hands-on children’s activities.

Summer Movies in the Park

Summer Movies in the Park is a series of free outdoor movie screenings in community parks and recreation centers throughout San Diego.

Movies begin at dusk, which is about 15 minutes after sunset. People are encouraged to come early for picnics and activities.

Fiesta Del Sol 2017

The 38th Annual Fiesta del Sol will be on May 20- 21, 2017 from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. each day. The Solana Beach Chamber of Commerce has been hosting this FREE two day arts & music festival for 37 years as a kick off to Summer in Solana Beach! The event takes place at Fletcher Cove.

The Belly Up is lining up a great list of musicians to perform over the two day event, which includes local community talent. There will also be a large, fun and exciting Children’s Area set up for families to enjoy rides, games and a climbing wall.

Tierrafest Parade and Craft Fair

Come and visit our all-day Craft Fair (9am to 3pm), offering lots of handmade items by local artisans.  The day starts with a Patriot’s Day Parade at 10am, with schools, clubs, bands, businesses and local dignitaries marching or riding, and the day ends with a barbeque dinner (4-8pm) at the Tierrasanta Rec Center together with a fireworks display at dusk.  The Craft Fair and Parade are  free, and children are welcome.  Tickets for the dinner are available at the Craft Fair.

24th Southern California Band Festival

The 24th Southern California Band Festival is being held May 20 and 21, 2017 at Old Poway Park. The festival presents 17 adult concert bands from Southern California and Arizona with a new band every hour. The festivities conclude with the Third Marine Aircraft Wing Band starting at 6:15 Sunday. Food and beverages are available. Gift baskets will be auctioned off.

Balboa Park Holiday Food Truck Festival

Today is the last day for Balboa Park Conservancy’s Holiday Food Truck Festival in the Plaza de Panama and El Prado walkway.

The event features gourmet dishes from San Diego’s most popular food trucks, live music, and activities for families.

The Holiday Food Truck Festival gives visitors one last chance to experience the festive atmosphere created by the light displays and decorations that were installed for December Nights.

Haunted Tales Aboard the Star of India

Dog Fest Walk ‘n Roll

This family (and dog!) friendly walk and festival kicks off early Saturday morning. After the walk, trick-or-treat through the booths lining the street – or enter your pup in the costume contest. The walk supports Canine Companions for Independence, which provides highly trained assistance dogs to people with disabilities for free.

The Balboa Park Conservancy invites families to a safe, fun, and culturally inspired way to kick off their Halloween activities at the 8thAnnual Balboa Park Halloween Family Day on Saturday, October 29. Over two dozen participating museums, cultural attractions, and community partners will present free craft projects for kids, costume parades and contests, spooky gallery tours and treasure hunts, and other fun surprises from 11am to 4pm. Participating museums are offering free admission to children 12 and under with paying adult.

La Mesa’s 11th Annual Park Appreciation Day

If you’re a fan of La Mesa’s parks, resident or not, La Mesa would love your help tomorrow with their Park Appreciation Day. Just show up at a La Mesa neighborhood park at 8:00 am on Saturday, October 15. General clean-up includes picking up trash, light raking, trimming, and weeding. Please bring your own gardening gloves along with your rakes or trowels to the park.

Grand Avenue Festival

Over 500 vendors, live entertainment, and food from around the world have combined to make the Escondido Grand Avenue Festival a family tradition since 1989. Held on historic Grand Avenue in Escondido, it’s the second largest single-day festival in California. Five hundred unique vendor booths line seven blocks of beautiful downtown Escondido along Grand Avenue.

Landlubbers Day

A celebration of all things pirate in honor of Talk Like a Pirate Day. We encourage young and old to throw on their best pirate attire for a day of eye patches, parrots and walking the plank!

San Marcos Serbian Food Festival

“The Serbian Church on Knob Hill opens its doors once again for their upcoming 5th Annual Serb Fest. In just over 2 weeks the St. Petka Serbian Orthodox Community of San Marcos will be showcasing their hospitality through food, religion, culture and wholesome family fun.

One of Mira Mesa’s busiest streets will transform into a blocks-long festival featuring booths, foods around the world, entertainment, a carnival and crafts and games.
