Celebrate Old Glory at La Mesa’s Flag Day Parade this Saturday. Pre-parade entertainment by middle school bands at 9am, with the parade beginning at 10am. There will be free ice cream, as well. This year’s grand marshal is local historian and author Jim Newland.

Art Around Adams

The Adams Avenue District continues to evolve, and so has our event. Come visit the many participating storefront businesses with galleries and stages curated just for the event.

Enjoy Adams Avenue in a friendly, relaxed and carefree environment where taste-makers and free thinkers mix freely with family and friends. Experience exhibits and performances that will dazzle the eye and stir the senses. Each year we strive to infuse new and exciting artists and talents that reflect this year’s local trends in art and business. Stroll the entire route, or take the complimentary “Comedy Trolley.”

RB Alive! Street Fair

San Diego County Fair

El Cajon Dinner and a Concert

One of El Cajon’s premier events, our Dinner & a Concert Series is back again this year in the center of Downtown El Cajon. Dinner & A Concert is a weekly concert and dance hosted by Downtown El Cajon Business Partners, performed on the Prescott Promenade, which is surrounded by a variety of restaurants. Thousands of people from all over San Diego County arrive to see and listen to many of our local bands and musicians. Join us Friday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 PM for a great time and great food from our downtown restaurants.

Summer Movies in the Park

Across the county, cities are taking part in the movie screenings at local outdoor parks. Almost every day of the week this summer, San Diegans can find a free outdoor movie screening thanks to a county-wide initiative. Sinatra at 100: A Salute to the Chairman of the Board

This San Diego Symphony “Summer Pops” concert will pay homage to Ol’ Blue Eyes and his memorable music. Led by conductor Bill Conti and Cary Hoffman on vocals, the crowd will be treated to Frank Sinatra hits like “Fly Me to the Moon,” “My Way” and “Strangers in the Night.”

Valley Center Gourmet Food Truck Festival

Fourteen of Southern California’s top gourmet food trucks will be rolling into Bates for an afternoon of fun, food, and entertainment. In addition to unique and delicious food, there will be live music, kids activities, and family fun. Guests over 21 will enjoy local beer & wine. Be sure to bring blankets, chairs, dogs on a leash, family and friends for a great time at Bates. Check back for food truck lineup. Admission and parking are free.

Latin Food Fest “Family Fiesta” Day

ArtWalk NTC

“Sundays at Six” free summer concerts in La Mesa

Free summer concerts start on Sunday, June 14. They will be held in the beautiful amphitheater at Harry Griffen Park, at 6:00 pm. Bring a picnic and enjoy free music in the park.

Land & Sea Festival

Celebrate Get Outdoors Day and National Marina Day with your family at the Land & Sea Festival at 5000 N. Harbor Dr. in Point Loma. Aiming to promote the role of marinas in the enjoyment of boating and stewardship in our local waterways, this fest will include vendors with marine and boating products and services, health and wellness services and home and garden items. Food, live music and a beer garden top off the fun, plus attendees can have a chance to go on a sailboat, powerboat or a paddleboard.

Event: Big Bite Bacon Fest

Event: San Diego County Fair

San Diego County Fair: Opening Day

Plan to be at the Fair on Friday, June 8, when we open the gates for the 2012 “Out Of This World” season! We will have a special Opening Ceremony about 10:00AM featuring a marching band, the raising of our national flag, the singing of the National Anthem, many entertainers who will amuse and delight you while you wait for the Fair to open, and more surprises. The gates will open at 11:00AM.

The Fair will be open Friday, June 8, through Wednesday, July 4. The Fair will be closed Mondays, except for July 2.
