Downtown Oceanside hosts its “First Friday Art Walk,” featuring local artists, music and dancing. This time, the theme is “Stars & Arts,” a patriotic nod to America. The event is free and, as the name suggests, takes place every first Friday of the month.

64th Annual Over-The-Line

Games start at 7:30 a.m. promptly and continue until dark on both weekends of Over-The-Line.

Over-The-Line is a public event and requires no ticket or entrance fee to watch the games and enjoy the tournament.

TGIF Concerts in the Park

Tonight enjoy Carlsbad’s popular TGIF Concerts in the Parks series. For over 30 years, the City of Carlsbad has presented live music throughout the city. This year, nine concerts will be presented in four beautiful parks in Carlsbad.

With a variety of food vendors for all your picnic needs, hands-on art activities for all ages, green grass for hanging out with friends and family, top quality live music and a dance floor to boogie the night away, TGIF has everything you need for a great night out in Carlsbad.

Summer Movies in the Park

Summer Movies in the Park is a series of free outdoor movie screenings in community parks and recreation centers throughout San Diego.

Movies begin at dusk, which is about 15 minutes after sunset. People are encouraged to come early for picnics and activities.

Friday Night Liberty

The Arts District (2640 Historic Decatur Rd.) at Liberty Station hosts its monthly art walk, “Friday Night Liberty,” a free event showcasing the working artists of this up-and-coming hub. The event also features live entertainment, including dance, theatre and music.

Little Italy Summer Film Festival

Every Saturday night this summer, stop by San Diego’s Little Italy Amici Park and enjoy a series of Italian films with English subtitles. The screenings start at 8 p.m. The entry fee is a $5 donation

La Mesa Boulevard Stroll – Luau

Star-Spangled Pops

The San Diego Symphony pays tribute to America with this three-day “Star-Spangled Pops” concert at Embarcadero Marina Park South. The Symphony will perform patriotic tunes in a show, ending with a salute to the armed forces and fireworks.

Fiesta Del Sol 2017

The 38th Annual Fiesta del Sol will be on May 20- 21, 2017 from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. each day. The Solana Beach Chamber of Commerce has been hosting this FREE two day arts & music festival for 37 years as a kick off to Summer in Solana Beach! The event takes place at Fletcher Cove.

The Belly Up is lining up a great list of musicians to perform over the two day event, which includes local community talent. There will also be a large, fun and exciting Children’s Area set up for families to enjoy rides, games and a climbing wall.

Tierrafest Parade and Craft Fair

Come and visit our all-day Craft Fair (9am to 3pm), offering lots of handmade items by local artisans.  The day starts with a Patriot’s Day Parade at 10am, with schools, clubs, bands, businesses and local dignitaries marching or riding, and the day ends with a barbeque dinner (4-8pm) at the Tierrasanta Rec Center together with a fireworks display at dusk.  The Craft Fair and Parade are  free, and children are welcome.  Tickets for the dinner are available at the Craft Fair.

24th Southern California Band Festival

The 24th Southern California Band Festival is being held May 20 and 21, 2017 at Old Poway Park. The festival presents 17 adult concert bands from Southern California and Arizona with a new band every hour. The festivities conclude with the Third Marine Aircraft Wing Band starting at 6:15 Sunday. Food and beverages are available. Gift baskets will be auctioned off.

This year’s fair celebrates the year of the rooster. It is free to the public, and promises to be the best ever, filled with spectacular dance and cultural performances, and tantalizing street food that you might find at a lively Chinese night market. Learn more about living a gluten-free or allergen-free lifestyle at this large expo. The event features hundreds of products as well as meet-and-greets with local and national brands and speakers. On the Chocolate Trail
