MCAS Miramar Air Show

Welcome to Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, home of the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing and the largest military air show in the nation. This year’s airshow is scheduled from September 28-30, 2018.

Their theme for the 2018 MCAS Miramar Air Show is “100 years of women in the Marine Corps.”

San Diego Cabrillo Festival

The Cabrillo Festival is a fun event for the entire family, with educational activities, cultural demonstrations and exciting folkloric performances.

Brightly colored clothing and dramatic music and dancing bring to life the traditions of the Native American, Mexican, Portuguese and Spanish cultures that are part of the Age of Exploration.

The Cabrillo Festival features food booths with delicious traditional Mexican, Native American, Portuguese and Spanish food. Vendors will showcase their various artistic goods.

Adams Avenue Street Fair

The 37th annual Adams Avenue Street Fair will feature more than 80 artists performing on six stages along Adams Avenue in Normal Heights.

This year’s headliners will include West London reggae/tropical pop sing Hollie Cook (daughter of Sex Pistols drummer Paul Cook), and the roots-rockin’ Deke Dickerson and the Ecco-Fonics. In addition to the great variety of music, there will be a craft beer taste (Saturday only), four beer gardens, giant carnival rides, festival food and more than 300 exhibitors.

El Cajon Dinner and a Concert

One of El Cajon’s premier events, our Dinner & a Concert Series is back again this year in the center of Downtown El Cajon. Dinner & A Concert is a weekly concert and dance hosted by Downtown El Cajon Business Partners, performed on the Prescott Promenade, which is surrounded by a variety of restaurants. Thousands of people from all over San Diego County arrive to see and listen to many of our local bands and musicians. San Diego County Events for September 18 – 20

Here in San Diego county, this weekend looks like it’s festival weekend! There is a vast variety of festivals to choose from; attend one celebrating: Oktoberfest, boats, local heritage, beer, music, or food!

San Diego county events this weekend21st Annual San Diego Festival of Beer

The San Diego Festival of Beer finally comes of age this year, turning 21. The beer tasting festival is organized by the non-profit San Diego Professionals Against Cancer (SDPAC) and doubles as a fundraiser for the organization. The event will be held at the picturesque Broadway Pier in downtown San Diego, and the first 1,500 attendees will receive a free souvenir tasting mug to keep and use throughout the evening.

When: Friday, Sept. 18, 6 – 10pm

San Diego Bayfair

The world’s fastest boats will roar into Mission Bay for this three-day, family-friendly festival featuring high-octane action, music and beer gardens. This year, Bayfair organizers expect one of the largest boat fleets ever on the water, with more than 80 teams competing in multiple races. More than 85,000 spectators are expected to descend on East Vacation Island, Crown Point and Fiesta Island for this annual outdoor weekend event. 43rd Annual Bonitafest

The communities of Bonita and Sweetwater Valley will celebrate their heritage Saturday with the 43rd Annual BonitaFest. The festival kicks off Friday evening with a twilight trail parade. A street fair will take over the area around Bonita Vista High School. There will also be a performing arts festival.

Julian Music Festival

Music lovers will get excited for this sweet melody of tunes come Saturday. Music at the festival will range from Latin jazz, alternative folk, Celtic and adult contemporary.

20th Annual Encinitas Oktoberfest

This lively event brings together Bavarian dancers, live music, a street craft fair with more than 200 vendors and, of course, authentic German food and beer. A parade at noon will kick off the event. You can park for free at the Flora Vista Elementary School lot and take a free shuttle to the event.

Oktoberfest in El Cajon

Oktoberfest in El CajonDon’t miss this traditional, family-oriented German festival featuring our extremely popular band, the Guggenbach-Buam, joining us from Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Our opening parade and ceremonial “Tapping the Wooden Keg,” takes place at 4:00 PM each Saturday. On Saturday nights, the clubhouse is also open for dancing (8 pm to midnight). On Sunday, October 7, we’ll hold our wacky Chicken Hat Day, with a chicken hat contest hosted by our favorite chicken hat model, El Cajon Mayor Mark Lewis. Enjoy authentic German food such as bratwurst, ox-on-the-spit, potato salad, potato pancakes, sauerkraut and red cabbage, plus a tasty variety of German pastries and pretzels. Soft drinks and adult beverages will be available, featuring a fantastic selection of German beers, wines, and liquors. Enjoy folk dances, games, and contests , check out vendor and craft booths, let your youngsters go crazy in the Kids’ Fun Zone. Another highlight is our raffle giveaway, with frequent door prize drawings, plus a grand prize of a round-trip flight for two to Germany!
