Guided Nature Walk

Start your Sunday with a little nature walk at Mission Trails Regional Park. A trail guide will take visitors through one of three trails — the Oak Grove Loop, the Visitor Center Loop or the Riverside Grinding Rocks — while talking about the plants, animals, geology, history, and ecology of the park. These weekly guided walks are free and open to the public and begin at the Visitor Center. Wear sturdy shoes and bring water, a hat, and sunscreen.

Bazaar Del Mundo’s Annual Latin American Festival & Mata Ortiz Pottery Market

Oceanside International Film Festival 2018

The Oceanside International Film Festival officially returns this August for five days’ worth of independent cinema.

The event, which is now entering its eighth annual edition, offers local and international filmmakers the opportunity to screen to a wide audience. Attendees this year can expect to see over 50 films from all over the world, comprising of a vast array of topics and genre.

Food Truck Fridays

Food trucks will swamp Balboa Park every Friday this summer. A lineup of about a dozen food trucks will rotate each week through September 28 at Plaza de Panama ready to feed hungry guests while listening to a variety of live music. Visitors are invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit in front of the Botanical Building as they eat, or enjoy craft beer, wine and cocktails inside nearby restaurants. Booths will be set up with activities for kids and Balboa Park will introduce a “living room” area filled with giant lawn games. Surrounding museums will extend hours to accommodate guests and the San Diego Museum of Art will offer $5 admission after 5 p.m.

El Cajon Dinner and a Concert

One of El Cajon’s premier events, our Dinner & a Concert Series is back again this year in the center of Downtown El Cajon. Oceanside International Film Festival

Held every August, Oceanside International Film Festival officially kicks off a season of various film festivals, which are conducted annually in San Diego county and usually continue through the fall. The eight-day event OIFF-2017 will run in the same format and at the same venues as the previous year, screenings and celebrations taking place at two oldest theaters in town, Star Theatre and Sunshine Brooks Theatre.

San Diego county events this weekendHealthy Living Festival

San Diego’s largest health and fitness expo returns to the Del Mar Fairgrounds on both Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., respectively. The event educates attendees on everything involving health and wellness and will feature 30 expert-led lectures and workshops on topics like fitness, healthy eating, better sleep habits and how to reduce stress. In addition, there will be free medical screenings, too, and attendees will also enjoy cooking demos and tips from renowned chefs.

April Pools Day

In preparation for May — the drowning prevention month — the city of La Mesa is focused on bringing water awareness to the community.
